Acupuncture Needles

Achieving Balance and Restoring Health
Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine is a 5,000 year old comprehensive system of health care that offers patients treatments for illness and promotes optimum health and quality of health. There are many modalities of treatment in Oriental Medicine: acupuncture and herbal medicine are the most popular and familiar.

Oriental Medicine sees no separation between human body, mind and spirit; they are perceived as a whole and interconnected. Each organ is believed to have an expression on the physical, emotional and spiritual level.

The concept of QI (pronounced CHEE) is very important in Oriental Medicine. Qi is considered, LIFE FORCE, the energy that powers the body, mind and spirit. Qi circulates through 14 major pathways or meridians, each of which has specific internal branches to the organs.

How Does Acupuncture work?
There are specific points along these meridians where the body’s energy can be contacted through the insertion of acupuncture needles. Each point has its own function and affect on the vital Qi. Symptoms are seen as the body/mind/spirit calling out for attention or help. Acupuncture’s goal is to help the patient achieve balance and restore function.

Does Acupuncture Hurt?
No! Most people are surprised and relieved that acupuncture needles are very thin, not like large, hollow hypodermic needles. I will help you relax during the treatment as well. The acupuncture needles are inserted only millimeters in depth – again very different from hypodermic needles. After the treatment is completed most experience a euphoric feeling – with the utmost peace.

What Can Acupuncture / Oriental Medicine Do For Me?
The World Health Organization (WHO) of the U.N. identifies over 40 conditions acupuncture successfully treats. Acupuncture/Oriental Medicine treats 70% of the world’s population without any side effects. Acupuncture has been proven to be effective where other medical treatments have failed. Because acupuncture is widely used preventively when you have “nothing wrong” you can always benefit from treatment.
